Information Regarding Episcopal Candidates from the Standing Committee of the Diocese of the Central States of the Reformed Episcopal Church (ACNA)

In preparation for the vote to decide the new Bishop of the Diocese of the Central States at the annual synod to be held on October 16-18 in Mason, Ohio, the Standing Committee would like to make available information about the candidates. To inform our prayers here are the links to introduction videos, questionnaires, and resumes of the three candidates.

The clergy (all active presbyters) and a lay delegate from each church will be eligible to vote.

Process

To learn more about the process of candidate selection, read Canon 11 of the Canons of the REC.

Canon 11.1.i of the REC’s canons state that voting takes place by orders. In the first two votes, a two-thirds majority among both the clergy and laity is required. After two ballots, the candidate with the lowest number of votes is removed, and a simple majority of each order is required in subsequent ballots for an election.
